Scalp Micropigmentation for Clients from Newmarket

Newmarket runs on presentation - the yards, the sales ring, the walk to the paddock - so a sharp, natural look is rarely an afterthought here. Scalp micropigmentation gives exactly that: the appearance of a full, close-cropped head of hair, or quiet added density, restored without surgery and without a daily routine. Kennedy SMP is a small Haverhill studio that does nothing else, and Newmarket clients are looked after start to finish by Stephen himself. Your first consultation costs nothing, in person or on a video call.

A little about Newmarket

Newmarket is known the world over as the headquarters of British horse racing - built around two racecourses and the training heath, with the Jockey Club, the Tattersalls bloodstock sales and the Godolphin and Darley studs all based in and around the town. It's a place where presentation counts, from the racing yards to the charter market on the High Street.

Why Newmarket clients choose Kennedy SMP

Whether you are on the gallops before dawn or in front of owners at the sales, SMP has to hold up in daylight and at close quarters - and done well, it reads as your own stubble rather than anything applied. Because Stephen works only in scalp micropigmentation, there is no rushing you between other treatments; the whole session goes on getting your hairline and density right for your face. It recreates the look of hair rather than growing it, and every scalp settles differently, so you will get a straight answer about what to expect for yours.

Real results, real reviews

SMP for Newmarket clients - FAQs

Will SMP look natural around Newmarket's racing world?

That is the entire point - a finish that reads as your own close-cropped hair whether you are at the yard, ringside or out in town, not something people clock as done. The pigment is matched to your natural colour and skin tone and put in as thousands of tiny impressions, and the hairline is shaped to suit your face rather than drawn as a hard, straight line, so it holds up in daylight and at arm's length. It is a cosmetic effect rather than real hair, and how it settles genuinely varies from one person to the next, so Stephen will show you real client results and tell you plainly what is realistic for you before you commit to anything at all.

Can I sort out a consultation from Newmarket without coming in first?

Yes - plenty of Newmarket clients start with a free video call instead of a first trip over to Haverhill. You show Stephen your hair loss on screen, talk through what you are after, and get an honest read on whether SMP suits you and roughly what it would involve, all before deciding anything. If you would sooner just come and see the studio in person, that is equally fine. Either way, nothing is booked or priced until your scalp has actually been looked at properly, on screen or in the chair, so you are never committing blind.

Do the appointments fit around a working week in Newmarket?

They can. The studio runs seven days a week, with weekday sessions going into the evening and weekend slots as well, so fitting SMP around early yards, race days or an ordinary job in Newmarket is usually straightforward. A full result is built over two or three sittings a few weeks apart rather than one long stretch, and the dates are set around your diary once we know how many sessions you actually need. Most people find it slots in without much time off work at all.

Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?

Most clients describe SMP as mild discomfort rather than pain, comparable to a light scratching sensation. Everyone feels it slightly differently, and how sensitive you are can vary across the scalp, with the hairline and areas over bone often a little more noticeable than the softer areas further back. Numbing options are discussed at your consultation, so you can decide what suits you before we begin. Sessions typically last a few hours, with short breaks whenever you need them, and the work is built up gradually rather than rushed. Any redness usually settles within 24 to 48 hours, and most people are comfortable returning to normal activities the same day. If you have a low pain threshold or any concerns at all, raise them at the consultation and we will plan around you. Individual experiences vary, and we will never pretend a treatment is completely sensation-free.

  • Best decision I made by coming to Kennedy SMP Studio. Did have a few consultations with other SMP artists, but they all had the same mindset, that it would be completed in two sessions and were pushy on booking.

  • Just finished my second SMP session and couldn't be happier… From the consultation through to the sessions, everything has been explained properly and carried out to a really high standard.

    - Dave Balding, via Google

  • I was pretty nervous about getting SMP at first, especially because I didn't want it to be a sudden, obvious change.
